VFS Exchange is a simple utility written by mtdn member Doug Reeder that feeds files from the Palm OS Virtual File System into the Exchange Manager (a component of PalmOS). It allows one to install certain files into the appropriate application or database, which can otherwise be a hassle. Now one no longer needs to use the tedious "file:///directory/filename.ext" from Blazer or another web browser in order to transfer files to the exchange manager, such as:
MIDI (.mid) and WAVE (.wav) files can be installed into the sound database, for use as ringtones, on some devices such as the Treo 600 and 650.
Java Midlets in .jar files can be installed into IBM's Java environment.
Text (.txt) files can be imported into a memo.
VCard (.vcf) files can be imported into Address Book/Contacts.
VCal (.vcs) files can be imported into Date Book/Calendar.
and any other filetype registered with the exchange manager!

gykc: This program is fantastic! Works terrific on my Verizon Treo 755p. Am now able to take all of my midi files from my pc to the Mini SD card and place them into the Ringtone for phone use as well as w/ Butler Alarms!!
vyness: am i doing something wrong I can't get it to load to the actual phone, it keeps saying the file type is wrong
