SoundRec is a simple sound recording application that allow Palm OS5 devices to record short voice memos. It will only work on Treo 600 phones that have been updated with firmware that adds support for recording audio. Features include: one button recording, direct saving to the SD card, export recordings to the SD card, adjustable sample rate, adjustable microphone gain, and playback volume controls. Future features will include: export recordings as MP3 to the SD card, attach alarms and dates to recordings.
Note: This beta version ("soundrec107d.prc") is designed to address compatibility issues with the Treo 650. The ZIP includes the previous (stable) version 1.051. See the developer's site for additional details and related products.

levinel: On my 650 ... much better recording quality than Palm Voice Memo (if you can find a copy) - but the files are also much bigger
SDGuy: Just what I was looking for - a great way to get around Palm's intentional crippling of the built-in Voice Memo app (which has no easy way to offload voice memos. emailing yourself a qcp file which then has to be converted to something usable doesn't count).
SoundRec 1.07d allows export of recordings as wav files to your external card (works on my 755p). Would love to have mp3 as an option, but I'm really not complaining, given the alternatives...
games1: very nice
thank you
mr.bostic: I've downloaded this to my internal memory and the play back is too fast.
