PFB: PalmFileBrowser lets you manage your files on the Treo and the SD card directly from your Windows PC.
It has two major advantages over Softick CardExportII: it is freeware, and it let's you access files on the Treo itself. The disadvantage is that it requires an application on the PC. For installation instructions, please check Help.htm in the ZIP file or see the "detailed description" below.
NOTE: The prc download is the extracted handheld client filepc2pda only. You
must download and extract the zip to your desktop computer in order to transfer files.
Source available at developer website.

edes: Works great on my centro! It works perfectly to transfer any file, to the ram or SD!
SuperTerrific: 2009-03-04 on 650Updated to v1.4 and can now use USB selection on device instead of v1.3's port:115200
pyrogenic: Doesn't work. Connection fails.Device shows:____________________________ReadyUsing Handspring USB call1 volumes foundConf.Port:USBROM version: 0x54....blah, blah____________________________I get Cound not open com port! error on the device.
mpage: Centro 1. On Treo: Select Port 115200 NOT USB, even if you're connected to the pc through USB. 2. On the pc: Select usb palm, and speed 115200 Great application when I read this from the other reviews.
Adondo: FINALLY!! This is what I have been looking for… a FREEware file transfer utility. I cannot see spending $19.95 for the occasional file (or folder) transfer to or from an SD card. And I hate the risk of popping the card out and trusting card readers. I have had more than one card scrambled from bad readers. (Nothing like a good card reformat and reload to start your day!)I have Pocket Tunes, and it works GREAT for transferring MP3 files. But, it will NOT deal with other types of files very well. I thought I could use the SD card audio folder as a back door to move other things around. There is size and number of file limit etc. unless they are MUSIC files. (Yet another good idea gets shot down in flames) PFB has no such silly limitations. I’ve moved just about anything and everything thru it. Even those multi-meg folders full of encrypted files that NV Backup creates do not choke it to death. But, it is for power users, as you really have to know your disk structures in both your desktop and Palm. PFB reminds me of the good old indispensable WS-FTP app for moving files to and from websites.Another VERY GOOD thing about PFB is that both ends are stand alone. In other words, no apps to install that extend tentacles all thru your Palm or Windows OS. You run filepc2pda on the Palm to start a connection thru your existing Palm Desktop conduit, then launch PFB on the desktop. filepc2pda is only 21k so you can leave that one in RAM. PFB itself (for the desktop computer) is only 48k and its companion DLL file is 72k. Just run it AFTER you run filepc2pda and viola! A connection pipe into your SD card! Pay attention to the warnings as filepc2pda starts up, because if you try to do a normal Palm sync while it is running, the USB port will get hogged from both apps, and everything will crash. The only reason I did not give this great app a full ten stars is because it will not save your last used folder positions as WS-FTP does. You start from scratch each time. (From the root folder of each unit) (0) is your Palm RAM, (1) is your SD card. It does save connection settings between sessions for easy reconnects. You only have to mess with speed and port settings ONCE. Oh yes, more kudos for recognizing networks drives.
southwestroadboy: great transfer applacation. wish it worked thru a windows file explorer
pranamd1: Any chance there may be a version for the Centro coming anytime soon?
magmax: This is a great utility, is simple to use and has some advantages over hotsync. I installed it on a 700p and moved large video files as well as music and photos and it performed flawlessly. I think however that I may have damaged a 4Gb SDHC card when I attempted to delete a folder using the PFB PC app. Now I can't access the card. It would've also been nice to have a move file function as well.
meandmama: took awile to figure it out but it works great on my treo 650. it transfers kinda slow.
f1r3br4nd: I never got this to work on my Treo 600. PInstall works great, though, and that together with FileZ is all I really need to do anything.

Detailed Description
The PFB package consists of 3 required components:
- filepc2pda.prc: The Palm application which has to be installed on your Treo via Hotsync, or download.
- sertransplg.dll: A Windows driver which must reside in the same directory as PFB.EXE (or optionally in a directory in your Windows PATH)
- PFB.exe: The Windows application itself
Installation
- Downloaded the ZIP archive and extracted all components in some directory on your PC. You should see the following files:
- filepc2pda.prc
- Help.htm
- LICENCE.TXT
- PFB.exe
- ReadMe.txt
- sertransplg.dll
- Using HotSync or whatever means you typically use, transfer filepc2pda.prc to the Treo. Make sure hotsync.exe is no longer running after the transfer, but keep the Treo and the PC connected via cable or cradle.
- On the PC side, invoke PFB.EXE (typically represented by a small magnifying glass icon).
- In the dialog that appears, select:
- Port: USB (Palm)
- Speed: 115200
- On the Treo, invoke filepc2pda.prc if it's not already running. Select:
and hit the connect button.
- If all goes well, you will see several messages including "connect", "ready" and "1 volume found".
You are now ready to transfer files between your Treo and your PC. When you're done, select "Disconnect" on both machines. Next time you want to transfer files, simply invoke PFB.EXE and filepc2pda.prc again (you won't have to change the settings).
