Alerts Popup is a small utility, that gives you hard key or keyboard access to view your alerts, on the Palm OS platform.
Most Palm OS systems give you a flashing asterisk at the left hand corner of the screen or other indicator when an alert arrives. Users usually need to use a stylus to access them. Now, this little application allows you to invoke the Attention Manager from an application icon. In this way, by assigning this application to a hard key on your device, you can then easily view the alerts without using a stylus.
The Popup utility is freeware.
Note: The PRC is "Alerts.prc", a T600-friendly anonymous modification of the original "Popup.prc". The ZIP file contains both.

kilimanjaro: Top Freeware you need for your Treo. I used it with my T650 and now my T680 (on the lateral buton) really easy way to manage the alerts (messages recieved or call missed) with one hand
FragInc: "Most Palm OS systems...;" it doesn't state anywhere that this is a 'must-have' app for the Treo650. Don't down-rate something that works just fine on other Palm devices that don't have the same functionality built-in as is the case with the Treo650. Nice work, great app for those that need this!
babyj: this tool can come in handy but it doesn't work well with Butler for me. if installed on treo that has butler the alerts program opens up after soft reset. overall good tool if you don't have butler installed.
machanta: Chuck is right!
This app is not required for treo 650 and above. Press and hold Center button to display any alerts.
Chuck Lawhorn: Unnecessary app for the 650. Despite what others say here, the 650 will display alerts when holding the center button at any time when the flashing asterisk alert notification is on the screen. If the asterisk is not on the screen, the 650 will still display the alert screen, showing "0 Alerts" in the title bar. There is no reason to install this application on a Treo 650.
tgreco: Assign the program hotkey and you are set!
doby48: My 650 out of the box did this as well. Hold down the center button for a few seconds and the alerts popup. If you don't hold it long enough then it just selects another application.
phillyslickster: Great app. Works well on the Treo 650. No, you can only view the alert on the 650 if you happen to catch the alert when it's on the screen for that brief moment. Then it directly goes to the flashing asterisk. At that point, you can only view the alerts by using the stylus to click on the asterisk. Maybe you did some other type of mod on your 650 or have some other program that has enabled you to do otherwise.
jacobh: Without this app, one can already vew the alerts by holding down the center button (at least on my 650).
Jelly: Great! I feel like I'm still using my tungsten W! Thanks!
